Refund Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases from Habesha Gebeya. Because we operate as a multi-vendor marketplace of local businesses, our refund policies are designed to protect both our customers and our independent sellers.
1. Unavailable or Out-of-Stock Items
If a local vendor is unable to fulfill an item in your order due to stock shortages, they will contact you immediately. A refund for the missing items (and a proportional amount of taxes/fees) will be processed back to your original payment method automatically.
2. Order Cancellation
Because many products sold on our platform are fresh foods or perishable groceries, orders may be cancelled only if the vendor has not yet accepted or begun preparing the order.
- Pickup Orders: Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the scheduled pickup window.
- Delivery Orders: Cancellations must be requested before preparation begins. Once preparation or packing has started, delivery orders cannot be cancelled.
3. Issues with Freshness or Quality
If you receive fresh products (e.g. Injera, honey, meat) that do not meet quality standards, please contact support within 24 hours of pickup or delivery.
To process your claim, you must provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos of the damaged or spoiled items
Depending on the circumstances and the vendor's policies, customers may receive a replacement, store credit, partial refund, or full refund.
4. Wrong Delivery Address
Customers are solely responsible for providing accurate delivery information at checkout. Orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer are not eligible for a refund.
5. Failed Deliveries
If a delivery cannot be completed because the customer is unavailable, unreachable, or refuses the order, delivery fees are non-refundable. Additionally, refunds for perishable items will not be available in these instances, as the items cannot be resold.
6. Non-Perishable Items
For non-food, non-perishable items (such as clothing, jewelry, or household goods), items may be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they are unused, unworn, and in their original packaging and condition. Return shipping costs may be the responsibility of the customer.
7. Marketplace Liability & Chargebacks
Habesha Gebeya facilitates transactions between customers and independent vendors. Product quality, availability, and fulfillment are primarily the responsibility of the vendor. However, Habesha Gebeya reserves the right to investigate disputes and determine appropriate resolutions.
Customers agree to contact Habesha Gebeya Support to resolve any issues before initiating a credit card chargeback with their bank.
8. Processing Times
Approved refunds are processed instantly on our system. Due to credit card processor policies, the funds will typically appear on your banking statement within 5 to 10 business days.
